artist-in-Residence in textiles, Lillstreet Art Center, Chicago 2017-18

The artist-in-residence at Lillstreet Art Center is a one-year appointment that provides artists with studio space, 24-hour access to facilities, opportunities to engage in critiques and enroll in any classes offered at the Art Center at no cost to the artist.  During my residency in the Textiles Department, I studied natural dye and felting processes as well as introductory sewing and quilting classes, and silkscreen printing with dye techniques. The growth of my work at Lillstreet has been profound and I credit having the time each week to focus on making new work, experimentation, and dialogue and daily interactions with the vibrant community at Lillstreet.
